What's New?
I'll tell ya what's new-- this site! :P Hmm, and aside from that- there is another item worth checking out at your local video and media store...
What's New On The Scene
Be sure to check out the 2nd volume of The Bette Davis DVD Collection. Even her supposed rival Joan Crawford has a very similarily packaged collection out. Competitive after death? Damn- those women must be smirking and sizing each other up from the grave. Wait a minute- that's a little creepy.
Anyway, the 1st volume of The Bette Davis Collection was a set of 5 films: Now Voyager (aside from overuse of the main melodic score, I would deem this melodrama a must see performance and classic), Mr. Skeffington (also good), The Star (best work I've seen since All About Eve! Watch it! And no it is not a biography.), Dark Victory (Charming and sad), and The Letter (this one I didn't much care for). The 2nd volume features: Jezebel, The Man Who Came To Dinner, Marked Woman, Old Acquaintence (an interesting role where we see a character with more restraint than commonly expected from Davis) and finally What Ever Happened To Baby Jane? (the famed competitive duo deck it out onscreen, with Davis as the film's antagonist lead character).
